Journey begins in El Coca. We’ll travel along the Auca road towards the Shiripuno River. It will take us approximately two hours to get to this doorway to the Waorani territory. We will enter the Yasuni there, and you might even encounter some of its inhabitants on the way to the campsite. Wao Kamp is located at the entrance of Gaba’s Territory. Gaba is an elder Waorani warrior. Before wrapping up the day, we’ll visit Gaba and then return for dinner.

Start day early at 6:00 a.m. We’ll embark on a ride down the river while the mist dissipates. We’ll see how the forest awakes —the best opportunity to spot birdlife. This bird-watching activity will last for a good couple of hours. When we return, we’ll have breakfast at 8:30 am, followed by a hike in the forest with Gaba to learn about the surrounding plants and some survival skills. This morning trail, used by generations for hunting, will last 4 to 5 hours and lead us to an animal clay lick. After lunch and some rest, at 4:30 pm, we will paddle down the river in search of wildlife such as toucans, macaws, turtles, and monkeys. We will return at night to spot caimans and nocturnal wildlife such as deer, capybaras, or even jaguars. Dinner will be served at 8 pm.

e’ll enjoy an early breakfast at 6 a.m. and then kick start our day by exploring the blackwater lagoons in search of anacondas. We’ll take advantage of the many lagoons and try our luck seeing anacondas, the largest and strongest snakes on Earth. We will explore two or three lagoons on short walks and canoe rides. Our exploration starts at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 1:00 p.m.

We will then enjoy lunch at 1:30 p.m. and head to Gaba’s house to learn about traditional hunting and how he uses his handmade weapons, such as the blowdart and spear. You can also take a look at their jewels and art. Back at the Camping, you’ll have dinner at 7:00 p.m., and then we’ll have a short night walk looking for tree frogs, spiders, snakes, or insects.

To end our journey, we’ll have breakfast at 6:45 a.m. You’ll have some time to enjoy breakfast and stroll around until 7:30 a.m., when you’ll start the canoe ride up the river for approximately two hours. Once you arrive at El Coca, you’ll take a flight to Quito.

We will start our adventure in El Coca City, where we will drive through the Auca road for two hours to the Shiripuno River, the entrance to the Yasuni. From here, we start our adventure. We will traverse along the meandering Shiripuno River.

While you enter the Yasuni, you can enjoy the lush green sea of rainforest and its unique inhabitants since you will likely get a good look at some of the different animal species that live in this magical place. You can find toucans, macaws, and monkeys along the way.

After a four-hour expedition, you will finally arrive at our safari camp’s cozy installations. Our carefully selected staff will greet you, and you will have a welcome dinner at 7 p.m.

We start our journey early, before 6:00 a.m. We’ll go on a navigation trip through the misty Shiripuno River. You might spot toucans, macaws, monkeys, tapirs, or capybaras here. We then enjoy breakfast at 8:00 a.m. before joining Gaba —a respected Waorani Warrior and Chief— for a 4-5 hour trek focused on wildlife, survival skills, and ethnobotany, including a visit to a clay lick.

We’ll then have lunch and rest at noon, returning to Gaba’s home in the afternoon to explore Waorani art made with natural materials. We’ll enjoy dinner around 7:00 p.m. before wrapping up the day.

Start your day with breakfast at 6:30 a.m. before embarking on a canoe ride that lasts around an hour and a half. Once we end the ride, enjoy a 4-hour hike through the pristine forest, culminating in a breathtaking hilltop where you can enjoy a 360-degree view of the lush rainforest. We’ll find a nice spot to serve lunch in the shadow of the surrounding trees.

After this experience, we’ll head back to the Camp before 6:00 p.m. On the road back, we’ll take advantage of the darkness to spot caimans and observe nocturnal wildlife. Low river levels attract jaguars, capybaras, caimans, and turtles, making it an exciting time for wildlife sightings. Enjoy dinner to give adventure a rest for the day.

Begin your day with breakfast at 7:00 a.m. From the morning until lunch, you’ll engage in various activities, including scout walks and paddling in oxbow lakes. On our journey, you might spot the majestic Eunectus akayina, the largest anaconda species.

Lunch will be served around 2:00 p.m., followed by some rest. In the afternoon, enjoy a heartfelt farewell with the Waorani family, featuring traditional chants, stories, and ceremonial dances, providing a memorable end to your experience.

We’ll get up at 4:00 a.m. for an early departure to the Shiripuno Bridge. Enjoy a light breakfast as you glide gently along the river during the return canoe ride, and be sure you keep your memories and belongings with you. This is the end of your adventure with us. From there, a 2-hour drive will take you back to El Coca. Once there, you’ll take a flight to Quito (if you have included a flight) or continue to Quito by road (around 6 hours).

We start our adventure early to seize the best of the day. You can enjoy a healthy breakfast at 6:30 am before heading to the river for a 30-minute paddle. After a 300-meter walk carrying the boats, you can explore and navigate through the Anaconda Lagoon. This amazing oxbow lake is a special ecosystem and home to the Eunectes murinus, the largest and biggest anaconda species.

Then, in the late morning, we continue our adventure with a canoe ride for around forty minutes to a second lagoon. Here, you can spot giant otters and other species. After this, depending on our time, we might explore a third lagoon.

Around 1:30 pm, we’ll enjoy lunch and rest a little before embarking on a unique cultural experience with the inhabitants of the National Park. Around 3:30 pm, we will go to Gaba’s house. Gaba is the head of his family and a community leader. With him, you’ll learn some local legends and be part of their culture. Learn how the Wao spears are crafted, and use a blow-dart to understand how they hunt and sustain themselves. You can also appreciate their local art and jewelry made from the surrounding materials.

After this experience, we’ll head back to the camping area to wrap up the day—but not before having dinner at approximately 7:00 p.m.

Start your day with breakfast before 7:00 a.m. We’ll start a 5-hour kayak trip downstream through the Shiripuno River. We’ll then rest a little before enjoying a boxed lunch at noon. Then, explore the forest on a 4-hour trek to reach a stunning hilltop with a 360-degree view of the virgin rainforest. We’ll then return by motorized canoe around 6:00 p.m. —better keep an eye out for caimans and nocturnal wildlife. Wrap up the day with dinner at approximately 8:00 p.m.

Start your day with breakfast at 7:00 a.m. The camping is surrounded by smaller water bodies called tributaries, which are little river arms and streams. You’ll spend the morning exploring them with the kayaks. You’ll enjoy lunch at noon and then join the Waorani farewell in the afternoon. This ceremony features chants, stories, and history about the Waorani and their interactions with the Western world.

Once again, and for the last time in this journey, we begin this day at 6:30 am with a final breakfast in Wao Safari Camp. After breakfast, we’ll head back to El Coca. Once there, you’ll take a flight to Quito (if you have included a flight) or continue to Quito by road (around 6 hours).
