Cuyabeno
Tucan Lodge is a cozy eco-lodge located in one of the most stunning areas of the Ecuadorian Amazon: the Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve. The lodge accommodates up to 30 guests in comfortable rooms and suites, all featuring private bathrooms and hot water.
Guests can enjoy a balanced mix of nature excursions, cultural activities, and relaxation spaces—including yoga areas—for a truly immersive Amazon experience. Activities are led by expert naturalist guides who share valuable insights into the region’s rich biodiversity and cultural heritage.

MONKEY SEARCH ADVENTURE
Cuyabeno is home to an incredible diversity of monkeys. Navigating along the river offers the chance to spot up to 10 different species, including capuchins, tamarins, squirrel monkeys, and many more. With every turn of the canoe, new wildlife encounters await—perfect for nature lovers and wildlife photographers.
BIRDWATCHING
With more than 500 bird species, the Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve is a paradise for bird lovers. Early-morning outings—when wildlife is most active—provide excellent opportunities to observe parrots, toucans, hoatzins, herons, and many other colorful species while enjoying the Amazon sunrise.
SEE GIANT ANACONDAS
Female anacondas can reach an astonishing 5–8 meters in length, with exceptional individuals reported up to 10 meters. In the Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve, it’s possible to spot massive specimens—especially between October and February, when they come out to shed their skin. NIGHT WALK

WALKS IN THE RAINFOREST
Hiking in Cuyabeno is an unforgettable adventure. This 4-hour walk through primary rainforest allows visitors to learn about medicinal plants, frogs, insects, birds, and more, guided by an experienced naturalist. Along the way, it’s possible to admire giant trees such as the impressive cotton tree.
SWIM IN LAGUNA GRANDE
Swimming in Laguna Grande at sunset is a truly unique experience. After a day of exploring the reserve, this peaceful moment offers the perfect chance to relax, cool off, and capture stunning photos in one of Cuyabeno’s most iconic spots.
VISIT TO THE INDIGENOUS COMMUNITY

A local lady will show us the way she lives, her house and crops. We will enhoy some amazing food from the region and, then, prepare and eat the Casave, bread made from Yuca (a tuber).
AMAZON COCOLATE EXPERIENCE
The chocolate used at the lodge comes directly from a local community, where it is naturally fermented and dried to achieve exceptional quality. During the tour, cacao beans are roasted and ground in the traditional way, just as local families do. The experience ends with a delicious tasting paired with regional fruits.
