Caiman Eco Lodge is located in one of the best areas of the Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve, right on the shores of Laguna Grande and accessible by canoe year-round. Designed and built by two of Cuyabeno’s most experienced guides and managers, the lodge offers comfort, safety, and a truly immersive Amazon experience. We accommodate up to 40 guests in triple, quadruple, quintuple, and matrimonial rooms, each featuring a private bathroom and hot water for a comfortable stay in the jungle. Caiman Eco Lodge also offers relaxing spaces with hammocks, a stunning birdwatching tower with panoramic views from the seventh floor, and guided activities throughout the reserve. Every visitor is accompanied by a certified naturalist guide, a licensed canoe driver, and the dedicated Caiman Lodge team, ensuring a safe, educational, and unforgettable rainforest adventure.

Arrival to the Cuyabeno Bridge is between 11:00 and 11:30 am. Visitors register at the Reserve office and receive a short briefing from the naturalist guide with essential information and recommendations before beginning the two-hour canoe journey down the Cuyabeno River to Caiman Lodge. During the ride, it is possible to observe the rich Amazon wildlife, including several monkey species, birds, and other jungle animals depending on weather and time of day. Arrival at the lodge is around 1:30 pm, followed by lunch and room assignments, with time to relax.
At 4:30 pm, a motor-canoe excursion enters the flooded forest to look for flora and fauna such as sloths, pink dolphins, and more. The trip continues to Laguna Grande for a sunset experience and optional swimming. After returning to the lodge for dinner and a welcome cocktail, a night excursion by canoe offers the chance to spot caimans, snakes, and nocturnal birds—ending the first day in the Amazon rainforest.

Arrival in Lago Agrio is between 8:00 and 9:00 am, followed by private Caiman transportation to the entrance of the Cuyabeno Reserve (approx. 2 hours). After visitor registration, a naturalist guide provides an introductory briefing before beginning the two-hour canoe trip along the Cuyabeno River toward Caiman Lodge. During the ride, it is possible to spot monkeys, birds, and other wildlife depending on time and weather. Arrival at the lodge is around 1:30 pm, followed by lunch and room assignment.

ACTIVITIES AT CAIMAN ECO-LODGE
