Amazon Lodge is located approximately 200 km (124 miles) east of Quito, at an altitude of about 500 meters (1,640 feet) above sea level. It lies in the heart of the Upper Amazon Basin, a region known for its rich biodiversity, lush tropical vegetation, and traditional Quichua communities.
Thanks to its privileged location near the foothills of the Andes, this area boasts tropical humid forests that are among the most biologically diverse ecosystems on the planet. A high number of endemic species of flora and fauna make this a paradise for nature lovers. The lodge itself is perched above the majestic Napo River, offering breathtaking views of its stone islets and golden sandy shores.

More than just a rainforest adventure, your stay at Cotococha provides a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the vibrant natural and cultural tapestry of the Amazon.
Watch colorful flocks of parakeets flying overhead, admire the bright blooms of orchids and heliconias, and listen to the distant hum of the forest. Quichua children can often be seen playing along the riverbanks, waving at passing whitewater rafts or motorized canoes.
The surrounding jungle is teeming with life — from Amazon kingfishers, oropendolas, and hummingbirds to egrets and parrots. Thrilling whitewater rivers invite guests to explore the rainforest from a fresh perspective, combining excitement with deep ecological learning.

Our friendly staff form the backbone of the Cotococha Lodge experience, and are always available to cater to any special needs you may have.

Enjoy a beer or cocktail. We also have a well-curated wine list including wines from Chile, Argentina and Ecuador.
Wi-Fi
Free Wi-Fi with a passcode all around the lodge and rooms. Ask for the passcode at reception.
Electricity
Throughout the Lodge, 24-hour electricity is provided by a distant, nearly inaudible generator.
Boots & Ponchos
Clean and disinfected bubber boots and rain ponchos are available for all of our guests at the Lodge, free of charge.
Water
Purified, safe drinking water is available at multiple points around the Lodge – there’s no need to bring your own bottled water.
Restaurant
We have a children's menu and special diets. Plant-based and vegans are welcome.
Fans & Screened Windows
To protect from mosquitos, the windows are screened and a fan is provided in your room to refresh yourself after a day of activities.
