SACHA LODGE

Sacha Lodge is one of the most comfortable and luxury lodge in the amazon rainforest. Located in the Yasuni National park the biodiversity is unique. Visit the famous biggest canopy walk in Ecuador for birdwatching
The Lodge is so perfectly mixed in the wildlife environment that it is simply another part of the forest. Watch as the giant otters dive and call each other while you eat breakfast and when you return to your room, watch the alligators slide under the platforms. Listen to the monkeys chatting outside their balcony; and even the giant sloths that hang in the trees by the cabins.

ROOMS, DON'T SACRIFICE COMFORT FOR ADVENTURE
Accommodation in Sacha combines the highest comfort for the traveler with the preservation of the environment and the rainforest habitat. All of our cabins, with high thatched roofs and private shaded terraces with hammocks, are built with traditional materials, subtly immersed in the lush surroundings. Each of the 26 cabins, which include Singles, Doubles, three family cabins and (upon request) triple accommodations, offer a spacious private bathroom with a hot shower. Some of which even feature floor-to-ceiling windows for an immersive jungle shower experience! All cabins are protected against insects and contain ceiling fans above the comfortable beds.

THE BALSA UNIQUE COOL LOUNGE EXPERIENCE
"La Balsa" as it is known, is at the heart of the Sacha Lodge experience. An outdoor lounge area, surrounded by a breathtaking view of the sparkling Pilchicocha lagoon. It is the perfect place to read a book with a glass of wine, or to observe birds, alligators and giant otters, as well as the crimson sunsets and tremendous thunderstorms.

THE BAR, A COZY AND COMFORTABLE AREA
The safari style bar is located above the restaurant and is comfortably equipped with sofas and stools that support the bamboo bar. Relax with a cold beer, wine or classic cocktails made by our bartender.

THE RESTAURANT, DELICIOUS FOOD IN THE JUNGLE
The rustic and airy restaurant offers a relaxed atmosphere for dinner. With windows open at night, allow the song of the cicadas to circulate. A la carte dinners are served in the restaurant. Using fresh, local and sustainable products; our chef prepares meals to delight the palates of travelers from all over the world and thus satisfy the appetite of the most adventurous!

SABORES DE SACHA, OFFERING EXCELLENT FOOD IN THE JUNGLE
Buffet breakfasts and lunches that mix international cuisine with traditional Ecuadorian dishes are served at La Balsa. There are light and healthy options, as well as substantial pasta and meat dishes.
Dinner, which is a la carte, is served in the restaurant. Menus change daily and will often include the popular paiche. A unique white fish from the Amazon region, the same one that bears the important green seal of responsible fishing.
Vegetarians are more than welcome, and our chefs will be happy to accommodate any special needs that may arise. At least one night during your stay we will have a barbecue on the shore of the lagoon, in La Balsa, with grilled fish, meat and vegetables.

EXAMPLE OF A DAY
After making your reservation, Sacha Lodge will book your flight from Quito to Coca. (If booked with flights) The moment you set foot in Quito airport you will be in the safe hands of one of our bilingual team members, and they will be guided to the Lodge.
After arriving at Sacha Lodge around lunch time and meeting your guide - who will stay with you for the entirety of your trip. You will take your first excursion in the forest. Once you have dinner, you will set out in search of your first adventure of the night: watching snakes in the jungle, or going by canoe among alligators to the lagoon.

A typical day in Sacha begins at dawn or earlier, in order to take advantage of the cool morning hours as this is when the jungle animals are most active.
Each group agrees a time to wake up and that is when the guide will knock on your door for a wake up call! Breakfast will start half an hour after that.
Wherever the destination is, our excursions progress slowly for our guides to point out the fascinating details around you.
You can start the day paddling canoes along tannin-rich blackwater streams and lagoons, where lianas, orchids, bromeliads and palm trees abound. There is always the possibility of spotting animals, from the little pygmy sago to the dreaded ocelot or puma. Then, you could board the motorized canoe for a short ride along the Napo River to visit the Providencia de Yasuní community, learning about their way of life in the jungle, trying their cooking techniques and stopping along the way to see the clay lick of parrots.

You will return to the Lodge late in the morning, in time for lunch at 1 pm. In the time between lunch and your afternoon adventure, you are free to enjoy the Lodge, lounging in sun chairs with a book on the Raft, or cooling off in the lagoon pool. Activities begin between 3:00 PM and 4:30 PM and often continue in the afternoon, when the nightly outburst of insects and frogs begins. An afternoon excursion where you could see through the pristine terra firme forest, where the 150-foot kapok trees rise above and the roots form great buttresses to support the trees, your guide will point out the territory of the Owl of crest and will call out howler monkeys. You can then climb thirty-three meters (30 feet) for the Hanging Bridge ride, a 940-foot (275-meter) bridge through the treetops from where you can spot dozens of animals and birds.

The days at Sacha Lodge don't end with the fading of the light, or even dinner. At night hiking and canoeing, with the help of flashlights, often reveal creatures rarely seen during daylight. Alligators (of the crocodile family) and giant insects rule the jungle after sunset ... Do you dare to look for them?

* Attention: the activities are subject to the weather. Walks through the forest, the Torre del Ceibo and the walk on the Hanging Bridge are the cornerstones of the Sacha Lodge experience. .

Immerse yourself in the life of the jungle with our four-day, three-night adventure. Walks through the forest, watching alligators and the walk on the one-of-a-kind Suspension Bridge. They are the essential elements of the expedition, although we recommend at least four nights to take advantage of our activities outside the place, such as the enriching Community Encounter.

* Longer itineraries available.

CORONAVIRUS INFORMATION

The coronavirus outbreak has affected us all in different ways, especially for those who have had to cancel or postpone a long-awaited vacation. As we now seek to move toward a sense of normalcy, at Sacha Lodge we understand the need for safety when it comes to your health, as well as your investment in future travel plans.

Our programs already offer isolation. In our 2,000 hectare (almost 5,000 acre) private reserve, our guests have minimal contact with other people, this has always been essential to appreciate the hidden wonders of the Amazon rainforest. Also, our groups have always been kept small during excursions, up to a maximum of 6 people.

We assign a private guide to each group during all outings, thus providing a personalized service and avoiding crowds. With such vast natural areas to explore and private services at the lodge, social distancing is assured!
