In this tour we will visit the southern Andean part of the equator where we will be able to appreciate the spectacular places that surround this part of the equator with culture. We will visit Cuenca, it is one of the most beautiful cities in the country and is made up of four rivers that cross it, charming colonial streets, European-style architecture, churches and cathedrals, ruins that show the passage of the Incas and cultural, art and cultural centers. We will also visit the "El Cajas" National Park In the heights of the Western Cordillera de los Andes, west of the city of Cuenca, is the Cajas National Park, formed mainly by large elevations that keep inside lake systems in the form of huge interconnected boxes, hence their name "El Cajas".
HIGHLIGHTS
- Cuenca: it is one of the most beautiful cities in the country. It was declared a World Heritage Site for its unique beauty.
- Gualaceo: It is a land of great fertility, splendid scenery, making it one of the great tourist centers in the country. Land of Cañari legend, mythology and history. The word Gualaceo is related to the legend of the origin of the Cañaris, it is also believed that it means "place where the river sleeps"
- Chordeleg: called the “Chorro de Oro”, due to the etymology of its name and above all because of the different workshops and warehouses that sell jewelery in gold, silver and other precious metals. According to its history from earlier times, the town of Chordeleg was a land of skilled goldsmiths who dedicated themselves to working precious metals, giving various shapes especially to gold.
- Ingapirca: which means "Inca Wall" was, above all, an astronomical observatory of the movement of the sun and the moon, it was also a sacred space dedicated to the worship of their gods built by the Incas on the basis of a first Cañarí settlement, which populated the southern Ecuadorian.
- Parque Nacional El Cajas: It is located in Cuenca, Ecuador, it is one of the most visited places by foreign and national tourists, it is famous for its flora, fauna, moorland and cloud forests.
ITINERARY DAY BY DAY
DAY 1: CITY TOUR IN CUENCA – GUALACEO – CHORDELEG
This day we will start with a city tour through the city of Cuenca, a city declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, and we will discover its cultural and architectural diversity. visiting the most important churches and monuments of this city, we also observe the broken bridge, and we visit the tourist viewpoint of Turi, where we can have a panoramic view of the entire city of Cuenca. Enjoy the history and architecture of the city on this picturesque tour! In the afternoon we will visit Gualaceo and Chordeleg, two of the most important towns near the city famous for their handicrafts made with gold and silver, and for their colonial traditions.

DAY 2: DEVIL'S NOSE TRAIN - INGAPIRCA - CUENCA
Taking the North Pan-American Highway, heading to Alausi for our trip aboard the Nariz del Diablo train ... This is a trip in one of the most interesting and legendary "Train of the Andes" on the famous Devil's Nose ( 3 hours approx). Our trip continues to the most important Inca Archaeological Complex in Ecuador, the Ingapirca Fortress, which means "Inca Wall" was, above all, an astronomical observatory of the movement of the sun and the moon, it was also a sacred space dedicated to the cult of its gods built by the Incas on the basis of a first Cañarí settlement, which populated the southern Ecuadorian region. In the surroundings, we will see how the famous artisans make the "Panama Hats". After this interesting visit, we return to Cuenca.

DAY 3: PARQUE NACIONAL EL CAJAS - CUENCA - QUITO
After breakfast we go to the national park "El Cajas" on our way we go to the place known as Tres Cruces, to observe the landscape, then we continue our visit with a short walk through Laguna La Toreadora, and Polylepis. forest (paper tree), this walk will last about 3 hours. After this we will go to a local restaurant to enjoy a lunch prepared with trout (a kind of fish in the area), and then start the return to the city of Cuenca, transfer to the airport. for flight back to Quito.
Our guide will pick you up at the airport and transfer you to your hotel in Quito.
