The adventure begins in the station of Chimbacalle, from where we start towards the "Avenue of the Volcanoes". Pichincha, Atacazo, Pasochoa, La Viudita, Rumiñahui accompany the train on its route. The route descends through the "jungles of Panzaleo" that lent wood to the churches of Quito, crossing pastures, crops and haciendas. In Tambillo and Machachi we enjoy the gastronomy and culture of the chagras. In El Boliche, at the foot of the Cotopaxi, we discover its flora and fauna and we return to Machachi to visit Granja La Estación and enjoy a lunch.

Travel Recommendations

DRESS: Cold jacket, walking shoes, hat, sunscreen (SPF 70 at least), sunglasses, camera and cash.
 
ALTITUDE: Varies from 2,890 to 3,547 meters above sea level. The temperature ranges from 5º to 25ºC.
 
IMPORTANT: This program has short walks in irregular terrain and at considerable altitude. In the rainy season of the Andes, from October to June, there may be mud. The station of Chimbacalle has free and safe parking.

TRAIN ECUADOR AND ROUTES

ICE TRAIN I
The adventure begins in Riobamba, a typical Andean city nestled in the central Andes of Ecuador. The view on a clear day is impressive: the Altar or Capac Urku volcano rises on the horizon with its summit topped by five peaks, witnessing an eruption thousands of years ago.
TRAIN OF THE WONDERS
The trip begins in the northern Andes, in the valley of Otavalo where they alternate ancestral cultural traditions and export crops, such as roses. From Quito we start the trip to the coast, ascending first to the moors of Chimborazo through the Avenue of the Volcanoes.
TRAIN OF THE CLUODS
In this trip aboard the Tren Crucero we will climb 3600 meters in just 450 kilometers, experiencing one of the most impressive changes of vegetation and landscape in the world.

ICE TRAIN II
A tour of the typical sites of the inter-Andean alley. You can see the volcano Tungurahua, and the snowy Altar, Chimborazo and Carihuayrazo. In addition, Cevallos will visit footwear factories to learn more about this process.

The train advances through a spectacular landscape dominated by valleys and volcanoes Pichincha, Atacazo, Pasochoa, La Viudita, and Rumiñahui crossing pastures, crops and haciendas.
